About
Seriously Fun

|
|
Seriously Fun are the UK's leading provider of swimming tuition
and coaching
for babies, children and teenagers.
Initially formed as J.M. Swimming Schools in 1990 by
Janet Madden, Seriously Fun's mission is to provide
a friendly, uncompetitive, fun and above all SAFE
environment for children to learn essential swimming
skills.
The combined management team
have more than 30 years experience of working with
children and related industries. |
|
How did all this happen?
Janet's entrepreneurial
endeavour was inspired when her eldest son
Jonathon volunteered her teaching services at his school swimming
lessons. Janet immediately recognised that children
required much smaller classes and more personal
attention than could be provided for during school
lessons and J.M. Swimming Schools was born.
The Seriously Fun concept
The
small pupil to teacher ratio, simple booking
system and excellent customer care was revolutionary in the early 1990's
and the school quickly developed a large and loyal
base of customers.
Initially providing lessons for Juniors aged 4 to 12
years, in 2000 Seriously Fun launched their Swim
Babies program developed specifically for little
ones aged 4 months to 3 years. The Seriously Fun
Academy which provides squad training for children
over 12 years, now boasts over 20 members who are
focusing their efforts towards London 2012.
The Seriously Fun Team
Along the way we have grown rapidly from the initial
founder Janet Madden who continues to run the
company along with her two sons Jonathon and Phillip
plus a core team of over 20 staff. |

Seriously Fun Swim Babies 1 2 3 is a
gentle and progressive learn to swim
and water safety programme designed
especially for children 4 - 36
months and their parents/carer. Our
goal is to provide information on
water safety and to teach swimming
and water safety skills to children
so they can enjoy the numerous and
wonderful benefits water has to
offer enabling them to be safe in,
on and around water.
Teaching you to teach your child: We
teach you to teach your child safe
behaviour routines, under water
swimming and water safety skills
that will eventually enable your
child to jump in to the water, turn
around underwater and swim back to
the side. Teaching your child a
potentially life saving skill is
also a great way to have fun and
bond with your child.
Providing information: - Focus is on
constant safe supervision, water
safety, CPR and emergency procedures
Our lessons take place in a safe,
positive and fun environment, always
working at each child’s pace with
appropriate and progressive
practices. Submersions and under
water swimming is included in our
programme but is not the focus.
Learning to swim at an early age
reduces the chances of children
developing fears, this in itself
offers a life saving skill. A child
who is confident and familiar with
being in the water will tend not to
panic if he or she should
accidentally fall into the water.
However, we must remember that no
child is ever “water safe” or “drown
proof” even with swimming skills. It
is the responsibilities of adults to
ensure that their child is safe.
That is why water safety is a major
part of our programme. For a child’s
safety we must first teach them to
respect the water, establishing and
insisting on safe habits at an early
age could safe your child’s life.
Supervision at all times is a
priority, it is the parents’ role
and it is the rule to keep your
child safe.
Learning to swim can be a life saver
and is serious! When we have
established safe habits we can then
have fun and enjoy all the numerous
benefits swimming has to offer.
Learning a life saving skill
benefits your child’s health,
education and confidence and the
best part about learning to swim
with us is we will guarantee you and
your child will have serious fun!
Lots of wonderful memories that last
a life-time, a gift you can give
your child for life and a lifetime. |
