Please take a few moments to read through the serious stuff below. It forms the basis of a contract between us.

Booking and payment

  • A contract comprised of these terms and conditions will exist between us when you make a booking.
  • The contract between us is governed by English Law and any dispute will be dealt with under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  • Your card details are securely stored by our card processor to be used for future payments. Please contact us if you would like to delete your card details.

  • Your first monthly payment is processed 14 days after your start date and monthly thereafter on the card used for your initial payment.
  • Monthly payments are processed every month, even on months when no lessons take place. Your booking and monthly payment continues to hold your child’s place and to spread the cost of payments.
  • Your first monthly payment date is confirmed when you book and on your confirmation email.
  • Your lesson start date is confirmed during the online booking process and on your confirmation email.
  • Please check you booking confirmation email. If anything appears incorrect, please contact us right away.
  • All communication will be with the person making the booking who accepts the terms and conditions on behalf of all participants.
  • Lessons will occasionally run on bank holidays, please check our lesson dates.

  • Beyond 24 hours of your lesson start date, you may cancel at any time and no further payments will be processed against your card.
  • At the point of cancellation, your place will be cancelled immediately and you may not attend any future lessons.
  • At the point of cancellation, no credits or refunds will be given for previous monthly payments unless no lessons have been provided between your last 2 payments, in which case we’ll refund 50% of your last 2 payments.

Changing your lesson

  • Please contact us if you would like to change your lesson time, day, or venue.
  • We’ll always do our best to make the change subject to a suitable place being available.

Missed lessons

  • If you cannot attend a lesson for any reason, we are unable to offer a make-up lesson, credit or refund. Your booking and payment secures your child’s place in a specific class whether you attend or not.
  • If you cannot attend a series of lessons for any reason, you have the option to cancel or continue payments to secure your child’s place (payments cannot be frozen).

Cancelled lessons

  • If we’re unable to provide your lesson in the short term, you’ll receive a credit that will be automatically deducted from your next payment.

  • If lessons are cancelled on a long term basis (over a week) as the result of an “Act of God” e.g. disruption resulting from strikes, terrorist activity, or where schools/local authorities/public guidance advise that classes should be temporarily suspended for health or other reasons, then no credits or refunds will be issued.

  • We will provide suitably qualified instructors fully trained in the Seriously FUN programme.
  • We will do our best to provide a replacement instructor in the event of instructor absence.
  • We reserve the right to replace instructors as required.
  • We are only responsible for students during their swimming lessons and parents and/or guardians are responsible at all other times.
  • The swimming lesson begins when we accept charge of the student from the parent or guardian and ends when the student is returned to the designated handover point at the end of the lesson.
  • We will do our best to hand the student back directly to the parent or guardian.
  • The student is the full and sole responsibility of the parent or guardian when the student is returned to the designated handover point at the end of the lesson.
  • Please ensure the parent or appointed guardian is present at the designated handover point at the end of the lesson.
  • Where a student is a teenager over the age of sixteen years old the student may attend the lesson without the presence of a parent or guardian but the student remains the full and sole responsibility of the parent at all times before and after the lesson.

  • If an item may not be removed for religious reasons, it must be covered whilst swimming.

  • When swimming, fingers tend to shrink and rings can fall off, ear rings can come loose and detach, necklaces can be caught and break. These items can be lost and potentially damage the pool circulation system.
  • At all times, the risk will be assessed to ensure the safety of all.

  • In line with recommendations from the STA (Swimming Teacher’s Association) and the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association), children are not encouraged to wear goggles.
  • This helps to promote water confidence and enables them to swim without goggles, which is important for safety.
  • It also reduces the time spent adjusting goggles which can take up valuable lesson time.
  • If your child has become dependent on goggles we can help to reduce this dependency.

Baby swimming

  • Children attending our Swim Baby classes, regardless of age or whether they are potty trained, will be required to wear an under nappy and swim nappy as part of a double nappy system for health and safety reasons.
  • The double nappy system consists of a disposable or re-usable swim nappy PLUS a neoprene swim nappy.
  • To ensure the safety of all and to avoid accidents, we reserve the right to refuse entry to any child without the correct swim nappies.
  • Please ensure all used nappies are taken away with you or disposed of using a nappy bin if one has been provided.
  • There should only be one adult in the pool with each child.
  • We are happy for other family members or friends to bring your child to classes.
