Children move through our swimming awards programme and collect certificates to keep them motivated. We ensure children are in the right class and progression is not dependent on ‘getting the next award’.

We recognise that children progress at different rates and our swimming awards scheme reflects that. EVERY child is presented with a certificate and sticker at the end of each term.

When you book for one of our courses your child receives a FREE Seriously FUN Swimming Schools swim bag and an A4 awards file to keep all their hard earned certificates safe.

In addition to an awards file and swim bag, children also receive a FREE wall chart for their stickers. The stickers are awarded along with a certificate during our FUN day at the end of each term.

Awards ceremonies and FUN days

End of term awards ceremonies and FUN days are an opportunity for all the family to celebrate your child’s achievements. With different themes every term (including Pirates and Wild West) it’s a great way to finish off the term!

1. Swim 1 width on front without support

1. Swim 1 width on front, in single chamber buoyancy aids

6. Submerge fully & blow bubbles

Level 5
1. Swim 2-3m on front without buoyancy aids

6. Blow bubbles with face submerged for 5 seconds

Level 6
1. Swim half a width on front without buoyancy aids
2. Swim half a width on back without buoyancy aids
3. Star Float on Front & Back for 5 seconds without support
4. Blow bubbles while swimming on Front
5. Swim in a straight line on Front & Back
6. Blink water out of eyes

Level 7
1. Swim half a width on front consistently
2. Swim half a width on back consistently
3. Swim for half a width, Star Turn and float for 5 seconds
4. Swim through a large ring at surface height
5. Fully submerge and retrieve object from the floor with assistance
6. Kick & blow bubbles with face submerged for 5 seconds

Level 8
1. Swim 1 width on front
2. Swim 1 width on back
3. Push & Glide on Front
4. Swim through a ring below surface height
5. Fully submerge and retrieve an object from the floor
6. Swim for half a width on back, turn onto front & swim for half a width

Level 9
1. Swim 1 width on front with good body position & kick
2. Swim 1 width on back with arm action over the water
3. Star Float on back for 10 seconds
4. Mushroom Float for 5 seconds
5. Swim for half a width, Star Turn and float for 5 seconds without touching the floor
6. Superhero with face in for half a width

Level 10
1. Swim 1 width on front & 1 width on back consecutively
2. Superhero for 1 width, turning on to back to breathe
3. Push and Glide on back for 2-3m & return on front
4. Perform a safe jump in
5. Submerge fully without holding on & return to surface
6. Tread water for 5 seconds

Level 11
1. Swim 2 widths on front with arm action over the water
2. Swim 2 widths backstroke with both arms simultaneously moving
3. Swim for half a width, Star Turn and float for 10 seconds
4. Scull head first for half a width
5. Tread water for 10 seconds
6. Swim 1 width superhero, turning on to back to breathe

Level 12
1. Swim 2 widths front crawl with inconsistent side-breathing
2. Swim 3 widths backstroke
3. Perform a breaststroke-like motion for 1 width
4. Scull head first for 1 width
5. Perform a feet-first surface dive
6. Tread water for 15 seconds

Level 13
1. Swim 2 widths front crawl with consistent side-breathing
2. Swim 4 widths backstroke
3. Perform an effective breaststroke leg kick for 1 width
4. Scull feet-first for half a width
5. Perform a head-first surface dive
6. Tread water for 20 seconds

Level 14
1. Swim 3 widths front crawl
2. Swim 5 widths backstroke
3. Swim 1 width breaststroke
4. Perform a forward roll
5. Perform a safe sitting dive
6. Tread water for 25 seconds

Level 15
1. Swim 4 widths front crawl
2. Swim 6 widths backstroke
3. Swim 2 widths breaststroke
4. Swim 1 width of dolphin leg-kick
5. Perform a safe crouching dive
6. Tread water for 30 seconds, including a clockwise & anticlockwise turn

Level 16
1. Swim 2 lengths front crawl
2. Swim 4 lengths backstroke
3. Swim 1 length breaststroke
4. Swim half a length dolphin leg-kick
5. Front crawl tumble turn away from poolside
6. Scull head-first for 5m & return sculling feet-first
7. Tread water for 1 minute
8. Head-first surface dive then swim 5m underwater

Level 17
1. Swim 4 lengths front crawl
2. Swim 6 lengths backstroke
3. Swim 2 lengths breaststroke
4. Swim 1 length dolphin leg-kick
5. Perform a Front crawl tumble turn
6. Swim 5m underwater
7. Perform a Front star float, back star float & mushroom float without pause
8. Dive in & glide for 5m

Level 18
1. Swim 8 lengths front crawl
2. Swim 12 lengths backstroke
3. Swim 4 lengths breaststroke
4. Swim half a length butterfly
5. Backstroke flip & tumble turn
6. Submerged push & glide start on front
7. While treading water, catch a ball & return to thrower 3 times
8. Perform a backward somersault

Level 19
1. Swim 20 lengths, alternating between front crawl & backstroke
2. Swim 6 lengths breaststroke
3. Swim 1 length butterfly
4. Perform a breaststroke turn
5. Swim 4 lengths in 2 minutes using 3 different strokes
6. Front crawl, breaststroke & butterfly racing starts
7. Scull head-first for half a length, rotate 360° in a tucked position and return sculling feet-first
8. Perform 2 forward somersaults consecutively

Level 20
1. Swim 40 lengths, alternating between front crawl & backstroke
2. Swim 2 lengths breaststroke with 1 correct turn
3. Swim 1 length butterfly with good technique
4. Swim 1 length front crawl, finishing with a tumble turn
5. Swim 10m underwater
6. Racing backstroke start
7. Tread water for 2 minutes with one hand above head
8. Forward somersault, followed by a backward somersault

SuperStar
1. Swim 60 lengths, alternating between front crawl & backstroke
2. Swim 4 lengths front crawl with 2 tumble turns
3. Swim 4 lengths backstroke with 2 tumble turns
4. Swim 4 lengths breaststroke with 2 correct turns
5. Swim 2 lengths butterfly
6. Forward straight jump with arm swing
7. Forward tuck jump with arm swing
8. Individual medley with dive start (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke & front crawl)
9. Scull head-first for half a length, backward somersault & return sculling feet-first
10. A strong understanding of safety & personal survival skills in and around water
